About Me

I am a second-year PhD candidate in the Social Infrastructure for Equity and Wellbeing (SIEW) Lab led by Prof. Shenjing He at Department of Urban Planning and Design, The University of Hong Kong.
My research is dedicated to climate equity, with a focus on indoor thermal environments and their intricate links to housing systems, residential energy consumption behaviors, and associated health challenges.
I am a firm believer in walking and cycling as the most authentic ways to connect with a city.  Beyond my research, I find inspiration in art cinema and am a regular at film festivals.

Research Interests

Trained as an urban planner at Peking University (2016–2024), I gained extensive experience in land use planning and natural resource governance under the supervision of Prof. Jian Lin. My fieldwork in Southern Zhejiang (2023–2024), in collaboration with Dr. Lu Yu's team from Zhejiang University, marked a pivotal shift in my journey—transforming me from a practitioner and surveyor into an inquisitive researcher. Face-to-face household surveys enable us to examine the impacts of ecological compensation policies on rural livelihoods and energy poverty.

Simultaneously, my personal experience as a tenant in Beijing (2022–2024) sparked my interest in climate equity, specifically the challenge of "indoor thermal discomfort". This prompted me to re-examine the intricate roles of housing and residential energy consumption amidst escalating climate change. Driven by these firsthand insights, I am fortunate to have joined SIEW Lab led by  Prof. Shenjing He, where I have begun a systematic investigation into this critical intersection. I am currently conducting independent field research across China’s Greater Bay Area (GBA), combining in-situ indoor thermal monitoring with health assessments.
